CHITAG 2007
The Chicago Toy and Game Convention was last weekend. Companies that rocked the show were:
Buffalo Games
Zobmondo, the Would You Rather… Game
and
Fundex
Belcom Corporation had the most impressive booth which was a fully functioning 50’ x 50’ x 30’ game show set! It was all in celebration of their Brandoodles Game!
I did my best to moderate a few industry panels with distinguished guests Mike Hirtle of Hasbro, Jeffrey Breslow of BMT, Bruce Lund of Bruce Lund & Company, Randy Horn of Zobmondo, Richard Gottlieb of Richard Gottlieb & Associates, Howard Jay Fleischer of RoyaltyPros, Renaud Honhon of Flarus Trading, and Arne Lauwers of Lauwers Games.
Industry experts like Peggy Brown and Tracy Dudkiewicz were on hand to lend their extensive knowledge of PR, Promotion, and Passion to attendees. Overall it was a great show and a show that continues to grow in popularity. Don’t miss it next year!

Bubble Thing!

I am deep into the writing of a new book celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the founding of WHAM-O, that crazy toy company that gave the world Frisbee, Hula-Hoop, Super Ball, Slip ‘n Slide, SuperElasticBubblePlastic and in 1988… Bubble Thing. We went outside (imagine that) the other day and made some ginormous bubbles with this great contraption. Bubble Thing makes wondrous bubbles and even scary bubbles!
The Bubble Thing we used is a 1988 original, but the design has been improved by its inventor, David Stein. Check out his BubbleThing website, but if you really want to be mesmerized, watch David in this beautiful bubble movie he made in 1985.
