The Home of Radio Flyer

The Little Red Wagon. Is there any toy more a part of Americana? We visited the home of the LRW while shooting in Chicagoland.
Outside the headquarters of Radio Flyer, Inc. there stands a 21’ tall replica of everyone’s favorite wagon. The company loads it on a flatbed trailer and hauls it from Chicago to New York every February for Toy Fair. Once inside, you see another over-sized wagon, albeit smaller than the Transformer-sized one out front.
We interviewed Robert Pasin, the grandson of company founder Antonio Pasin, and found him to be as charming as his family’s toy. We had fun tracing the steps the Pasin family took from the “Liberty Coaster” wagon (their first woden model) to today’s stamped steel version.
Can’t wait until this film is edited and you get to see everything we saw! Next post will be the home (and airplane) of Burt Meyer, toyland legend.
