Packaging evolution

smaller.jpg

Some toy packaging remains unchanged after decades. Today’s Wiffle ball box is virtually identical to the way it looked when the toy was first released in 1953. Much more commonly, a toy package is redesigned every few years to keep up with the changing times. Timeless Toys follows the varying look of several toys through color changes and graphic upgrades, offering an absorbing look at commercial design through the years.

See how the packaging for the game of Clue evolved from 1949 to 2002.
